Energise

This blend is for when you can't open your eyes in the morning or can't keep them open in the afternoon. It's when you should really be going to the gym but your energy and motivation levels are low.

'Energise' is for whenever you have stuff to do and need a (gentle) kick up the backside.

What's in it?

Orange peels

Did you know that orange peel contains higher amounts of vitamin C than its flesh? In fact, 3.5 ounces of orange peel provides 136 milligrams (mg) of vitamin C, while the flesh contains about 71 mg. The high levels of vitamin C are beneficial for your immune system, which may help you fight off respiratory illnesses like colds and flu. Orange peel also contains considerable amounts of calcium, copper, magnesium, vitamin A, folate and other B vitamins and dietary fibre.

Organic Guarana powder (Brazil)

Traditionally used to stay alert during hunts, Guarana is a great energy booster. Guaranine, the active compound, is very similar to caffeine, though the body apparently can process it more easily. Athletes may also find Guarana helpful as it can dispose of lactic acid build up quite efficiently, thus avoiding painful muscle spasms associated with lactic acid build up from sudden bursts of energy exertion.

Lemongrass

Lemongrass has been used for hundreds of years for both culinary and medicinal purposes. It has strong anti-microbial and anti-fungal properties, contains many antioxidant minerals and vitamins.

Organic Yerba Maté

As an effective nervous system tonic it refreshes the mind and enhances memory, while combating fatigue, nervous exhaustion and stress. It also counteracts certain types of headaches and depression.

Organic Rooibos

The powerful antioxidants found in rooibos tea can help with your immune system, blood sugar levels and overall heart health. It contains high levels of a variety of minerals, including iron, calcium, potassium, copper, magnesium, manganese and zinc.

Tea time

Infuse 1 or 2 heaped teaspoons in water heated at 90°c, for 5 minutes.

Whole leaves take longer to infuse but it is definitively worth it!

Tips

You may get some powder residue at the bottom of your cup, which is perfectly fine to drink and even recommended (it's the guarana) but if you don't like it try those bio tea bags!
This way most of the powder will get strained.

Crush or grind the herbs prior to use.

Make sure that all ingredients are well mixed. Lighter particles and powders tend to sink at the bottom of the packet.

Do not leave herbs to steep in water as this may result in a slightly bitter infusion.

Don't drink too late in the day as it may make falling asleep harder.
