Caffeine-free

Changes in weather, fatigue or stress can weaken your immune system. The potent herbs in Immune boost and the unique way in which they have been combined makes it a great ally to help your metabolism keep colds at bay and maintain general health.

What's in it?

Organic Dandelion

This one time “cure all” of herbal medicine has sadly become thought of as a weed by modern gardeners. Luckily, the humble dandelion is making a comeback! Both the Dandelion leaf and root have been used for centuries in traditional medicine to treat liver, gall bladder, kidney ailments, weak digestion and rheumatism. They are also considered mildly laxative and the leaves have traditionally been used as a diuretic.

Dandelion tea is contraindicated with irritable conditions of the bowels. May also lower blood sugar.

Echinacea

Echinacea has long been esteemed as a powerful immune system stimulator providing significant therapeutic value.  It is perhaps most famous for its ability to cut the chances of catching the common cold by up to 58% and in reducing its duration by 1 – 2 days.

Organic Gingko

Chinese medicine uses Gingko as a cardio-tonic, to maintain normal cholesterol level and to improve cerebral functions. The ability of Gingko to strengthen blood vessels, combined with decreased blood clotting leads to better circulation and reduced inflammation – both of which are beneficial to a healthy heart.

Siberian Ginseng

Siberian Ginseng has been found to increase white blood cell counts, which work to engulf bacteria and viruses and are therefore important to protect the body against infection. Being an adaptogen it can help your body adjust to stressful circumstances, ranging from extreme heat or cold to infections or mental exertion.

Orange peels

Did you know? Orange peel contains higher amounts of vitamin C than its flesh. In fact, 3.5 ounces of orange peel provides 136 milligrams (mg) of vitamin C, while the flesh contains about 71 mg. The high levels of vitamin C are beneficial for your immune system, which may help you fight off respiratory illnesses like colds and flu. Orange peel also contains considerable amounts of calcium, copper, magnesium, vitamin A, folate and other B vitamins and dietary fibre.

Turmeric Root

Not only does turmeric contain powerful antioxidants which neutralise damaging free radicals, it also increases the activity of the body's own antioxidant enzymes - directly blocking, then stimulating the body's own antioxidant mechanisms against free radicals. Turmeric has also been found to increase the expression of perforin - a protein that plays an important role in immune response.

Tea time

Infuse 1 or 2 heaped teaspoons in water heated at 90°c, for 5 minutes.

Whole leaves take longer to infuse but it is definitively worth it!

Tips

Crush or grind the herbs prior to use.

Make sure that all ingredients are well mixed. Lighter particles and powders tend to sink at the bottom of the packet.

Do not leave herbs to steep in water as this may result in a slightly bitter infusion.

Cold combo

Herbs are powerful on their own but their magic also works synergistically - meaning that combined they can be even more powerful.
