Caffeine-free

If you have a toothache, backache, menstrual cramps or any other type of pain, your first impulse may be to reach for a pill. Many people rely on medications, but they come with the risk of side effects, drug interactions, and habitual use or addiction.

Though research on herbal remedies is still in its early phases, many herbs are thought to provide pain management and decrease inflammation.

What's in it?

Organic Peppermint

Peppermint is a well-known digestive aid, partly due to its anti-inflammatory and anti-spasmodic properties. The latter decreases the likelihood of vomiting and nausea. The menthol present in Peppermint may also help loosen tight muscles and is a natural decongestant, offering rest from sinus pressure.

Organic Chamomile Flowers

Sometimes called “herbal aspirin”, chamomile has been used for centuries to lower pain and reduce inflammation. This seems to be backed up by science, with a 2009 study by Srivastava et al published in "Life Sciences," finding that chamomile caused cell reactions similar to that of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

Organic Pau D’arco Bark

The Pau D’Arco tree has a long and revered history in South America, where it has been used for 1000’s of years to treat almost every malady imaginable. It's anti-inflammatory benefits are the reason for this herb to be an integral part of this blend.

Organic Passion Flower

This stunningly beautiful flower is native to the Americas where it has been used for centuries to heal bruises and cuts. Modern day herbalists recommend it as a powerful nervine tonic to treat stress, anxiety and to help the mind prepare for a restful night’s sleep. It has also been used traditionally to provide relief from menopause symptoms and is especially adept at dealing with insomnia related to this change in a woman’s life.

Organic Cinnamon (Sri Lanka)

This pungent, distinctive smelling spice has a history of use stretching back to the dawn of time. Used by the ancient civilisations of Egypt, China and Rome, the bark is native to Sri Lanka. Anti-inflammatory, cinnamon is beneficial in offering rest from menstrual discomfort as well as cramping.

Organic Ginger Roots

There are many studies that promote Ginger as a remedy for nausea and vomiting. Used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for over 4,000 years, in modern times Ginger has been studied for its antibacterial, anti-fungal and pain-relieving, properties.

Lovage

Many of the health benefits of lovage relate to its anti-inflammatory and soothing nature, which can be helpful in reducing headache symptoms. It also has mild pain-relieving properties.

Organic Valerian

With a history stretching back to at least Ancient Greece and Rome, the Valerian Root has been used as a sleep aid, for anxiety relief and much more through the ages. However, it is as a treatment for nervous disorders that Valerian has become most noteworthy.

Tea time

Infuse 1 or 2 heaped teaspoons in water heated at 90°c, for 5-8 minutes.

Whole leaves take longer to infuse but it is definitively worth it!

Tips

Crush or grind the herbs prior to use.

Make sure that all ingredients are well mixed. Lighter particles and powders tend to sink at the bottom of the packet.

Do not leave herbs to steep in water as this may result in a slightly bitter infusion.

Combo option

Herbs are powerful on their own but their magic also works synergistically - meaning that combined they can be even more powerful.

- Migraine relief

- Pain relief
