What's in it?

Hawthorn Berries and Leaves

The humble Hawthorn Berry enjoys a long and enduring history as the herb to strengthen your heart – both physically and emotionally. The berries were a favourite of the Native American Indians as a heart tonic and they also used them for gastrointestinal complaints. Whilst Hawthorn Berries are most notorious for their contribution to heart health, running a close second are the phenomenal amount of powerful antioxidants they contain.

Research is lacking on whether this herb is safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Ginseng Siberian

Siberian ginseng helps to normalise the way in which the body responds to stress and acts to regulate hormones and support the whole of the central nervous system.
Siberian ginseng is also frequently used as an immune booster.  Men have used the herb to improve sexual function and remedy impotence and it's believed to increase estrogen levels in women as well as ease menopausal symptoms.

Organic Rosehips

The antioxidant properties of Hibiscus can protect the liver. A refreshing cup of Hibiscus tea can help to flush and cleanse the liver.

Herbs that are good for the liver tend to also benefit the kidneys, and Hibiscus is no different in this respect. Hibiscus tea has also been shown to have diuretic properties. Diuretics help to stimulate the kidneys by allowing urine to be passed more frequently and in greater quantity. This helps to cleanse the kidneys and can prevent water retention.

Organic Hibiscus

Hibiscus has long been used as a traditional remedy for all manner of respiratory infections. It is now known to be extremely rich in vitamin C – a potent antioxidant vitamin that is well known for its immune boosting qualities and ability to reduce the symptoms of coughs and colds. The antioxidant properties of Hibiscus also protect the liver.

Organic Lemon Verbena

Lemon Verbena soothes the mind and facilitates digestion. It can boost the immune system and some studies have linked it to an increased rate of fat-burning, reduced joint pain and improved digestion.

Organic English Lavender Flowers

Lavender has been in documented use for over 2,500 years, with its name coming from the Latin root “lavare”, meaning “to wash”. It most likely earned its name because it was frequently used in baths to purify the body and spirit.

Lavender was used by the Ancient Egyptians for embalming and cosmetics, jars have been recovered from tombs filled with unguents containing this herb. When King Tut’s tomb was opened in 1923, there was said to be a faint scent of lavender that could still be detected an incredible 3,000 years later.

Tea time

Infuse 1 or 2 heaped teaspoons in water heated at 90°c, for 4-6 minutes.

Whole leaves take longer to infuse but it is definitively worth it!

For best results, drink regularly. Ideally, daily.

Crush or grind the herbs prior to use.

Make sure that all ingredients are well mixed. Lighter particles and powders tend to sink at the bottom of the packet.

Do not leave herbs to steep in water as this may result in a slightly bitter infusion.
