An anti-inflammatory and astringent concoction of herbs designed to help relieve the symptoms of hay fever.

What's in it?

Organic Lemon Balm

Lemon Balm is a natural antihistamine that also been shown to be beneficial in relieving respiratory symptoms associated with allergies such as coughs and asthma. Additionally, Lemon Balm is calming and useful in treating irritability, anxiety, and restlessness which may be particularly beneficial when allergies are at their peak.

Organic Eyebright

Working against allergies, colds, sinusitis and general respiratory discomfort, Eyebright contains naturally astringent tannins that can help to reduce catarrh and mucus discharge. It is thought that these tannins work by tightening the mucous membranes, whilst the flavonoids found in this herb can provide relief from seasonal allergies, coughs, colds and chest congestion.

Organic Chamomile Flowers

Sometimes called “herbal aspirin”, chamomile has been used for centuries to lower pain and reduce inflammation. This seems to be backed up by science, with a 2009 study by Srivastava et al published in "Life Sciences," finding that chamomile caused cell reactions similar to that of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

If a ragweed allergy is present chamomile should not be used in the treatment of allergies.

Organic Plantain

Plantain is a restorative to the respiratory mucus membranes. It helps to expel phlegm and treat tissue congestion in allergic conditions such as in hay fever and asthma. It soothes inflamed and painful mucous membranes in the respiratory tract. It is further recommended for all forms of respiratory congestion such as nasal catarrh, sinusitis, middle-ear infections and bronchitis.

Ginger root

Many of the unpleasant allergy symptoms come from inflammatory issues, like swelling and irritation in the nasal passages, eyes, and throat. Ginger can help reduce these symptoms naturally.

Organic Goldenrod

Classed as an astringent herb and a strong decongestant, Goldenrod can help to dry up congestion caused by colds, flu, allergies and sinus problems. It contains a flavonoid called quercetin which acts as an antihistamine, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant.

Turmeric is well-known as an anti-inflammatory powerhouse for a good reason. Its active ingredient, curcumin, has been linked to reduced symptoms of many inflammation-driven diseases, and could help minimise the swelling and irritation caused by allergic rhinitis.

Tea time

Infuse 1 or 2 heaped teaspoons in water heated at 90°c, for 5-8 minutes.

Whole leaves take longer to infuse but it is definitively worth it!

Crush or grind the herbs prior to use.

Make sure that all ingredients are well mixed. Lighter particles and powders tend to sink at the bottom of the packet.

Do not leave herbs to steep in water as this may result in a slightly bitter infusion.

For best results, start drinking twice a day at least a couple of weeks before the beginning of spring and keep drinking until the end of the season.

As many people also experience allergy symptoms all year round drinking Spring survival daily would help in preventing symptoms from occurring.

Natural herbal remedies can take longer to act and require regular use but it is definitively worth it if it means not poisoning yourself with artificial substances.

Combo option

Herbs are powerful on their own but their magic also works synergistically - meaning that combined they can be even more powerful.

- Allergy relief

- Spring survival
