What's in it?
Organic Dandelion
Dandelion is especially indicated in detoxification of the liver, restoring hydration along with electrolyte balance. It is also diuretic, aiding the liver and kidneys to flush away excess water and waste, supporting the body as it eliminates harmful toxins.
Dandelion leaf has been found to promote healthy lipid profiles, suppressing fat accumulation in the liver and reducing insulin resistance. This leaf also contains antioxidants that have a specific effect against liver toxicity.
A well known diuretic, Dandelion assists the kidneys in clearing out waste, salt and excess water by increasing urine production. This inhibits microbial growth in the urinary system and replaces some of the potassium lost in the process too.
Dandelion tea is contraindicated with irritable conditions of the bowels. May lower blood sugar.
Organic Marshmallow root
Antibacterial and antiviral properties of marshmallow root make it an important support tool for the immune system. This root is particularly well-known for its impact on the gut, which is where more than half of the immune function of the body occurs.
Organic Milk Thistle
Milk Thistle is perhaps most famous for its restorative effects on the liver and the kidneys. It is anti-fibrotic (meaning it prevents tissue scarring), and is thought to act as a “toxin blockade agent”. The flavonoids and other antioxidants found in this tea may be able to counter oxidative stress and the activity of free radicals in the body
Nettle
Nettle has long been known as an effective diuretic, however it also has nephridic qualities – meaning that it can help to break down stones in the kidney and gallbladder, preventing these painful conditions from worsening or requiring those stones to be either passed or surgically removed.
Nettle tea is contraindicated in pregnancy.
Organic Goldenrod
Nettle has long been known as an effective diuretic, however it also has nephridic qualities – meaning that it can help to break down stones in the kidney and gallbladder, preventing these painful conditions from worsening or requiring those stones to be either passed or surgically removed.
Lovage
Lovage was used for many hundreds of years as “irrigation therapy” for pain and inflammation of the urinary tract, for prevention of kidney stones, and to flush out toxins.
Organic Cornsilk
As a powerful diuretic and anti-inflammatory, Corn Silk increases urination, thus preventing the build up of bacteria in the urethra. It soothes inflammation in the bladder and urinary tract and coats the lining of the urethra. Corn Silk can help to prevent the formation of kidney stones and can increase the percentage of urinary stones through the urinary tracts.
Tea time
Infuse 1 or 2 heaped teaspoons in water heated at 90°c, for 5-8 minutes.
Whole leaves take longer to infuse but it is definitively worth it!
Tips
Crush or grind the herbs prior to use.
Make sure that all ingredients are well mixed. Lighter particles and powders tend to sink at the bottom of the packet.
Do not leave herbs to steep in water as this may result in a slightly bitter infusion.
For best results, drink at least 3 cups a day until symptoms go away.
Always consult with a doctor if symptoms persist for more than 3 days.
