What's in it?

Organic Direct-Trade Queen of Assam

Organic and handcrafted this whole leaf tea is robust with chocolate notes, a dry finish and a lightly sweet aftertaste. Small tea growers from Assam put a great effort into using only organic and traditional methods to make this high-quality tea.

Black tea contains antioxidants and caffeine that increases alertness. It can improve cardiovascular health and may decrease your risk of developing Parkinson’s disease.

Orange Peels

Did you know that orange peel contains higher amounts of vitamin C than its flesh?

In fact, 3.5 ounces of orange peel provides 136 milligrams (mg) of vitamin C, while the flesh contains about 71 mg. The high levels of vitamin C are beneficial for your immune system, which may help you fight off respiratory illnesses like colds and flu. Orange peel also contains considerable amounts of calcium, copper, magnesium, vitamin A, folate and other B vitamins and dietary fibre.

Ginseng Siberian

Siberian ginseng helps to normalise the way in which the body responds to stress and acts to regulate the adrenal hormones. However, by far the biggest single use of Siberian ginseng is its ability to increase energy. The primary glands for secreting energising hormones and enzymes are the adrenals - Siberian ginseng works to stimulate these enzymes so that symptoms of low energy and fatigue are addressed. It has also been found to increase white blood cell counts, important to protect the body against infection. Siberian ginseng is therefore frequently used as an immune booster.

Avoid whilst pregnant.

Organic Gingko

Ginkgo biloba - one of the oldest living tree species in the world - benefits the body’s ability to handle the stress elements by counteracting the effects of the uncontrolled production of stress hormones, such as adrenaline and cortisol. Being an adaptogen, it assists in raising the body’s ability to cope with external disturbances. Ginkbo also contains terpenoids, which increases blood flow and could provide a boost to your metabolism.

Lemon peels

Did you know lemon peel contains 5 to 10 times more vitamins than lemon itself?

Lemon peel contains a list of vitamin, mineral and fibre like calcium, potassium and Vitamin C, which gives your body a nutritional boost. Lemon peels also have some healthy enzymes, which help us to live a healthier life.

Organic Guarana powder

Traditionally used to stay alert during hunts, Guarana is a great energy booster. Guaranine, the active compound, is very similar to caffeine, though the body apparently can process it more easily. Athletes may also find Guarana helpful as it can dispose of lactic acid build up quite efficiently, thus avoiding painful muscle spasms associated with lactic acid build up from sudden bursts of energy exertion.

Tea time

Infuse 1 or 2 heaped teaspoons in water heated at 90°c, for 5-8 minutes.

Whole leaves take longer to infuse but it is definitively worth it!

Tips

Crush or grind the herbs prior to use.

Make sure that all ingredients are well mixed. Lighter particles and powders tend to sink at the bottom of the packet.

Do not leave herbs to steep in water as this may result in a slightly bitter infusion.

Hot summer morning? Turn it into an iced tea. Simply let it cool, add some ice, fresh lemon and sugar. Enjoy!
